Massage therapy (commonly known as myotherapy) is the process of kneading, pressing, or rubbing a particular individual muscles or soft tissue to enhance their health or well-being. It is an extremely efficient form of manual therapy which involves holding the muscles, sliding and sometimes applying gentle pressure to the muscle ligaments, tendons and fascia. While many believe that massage is just superficial massage to relax and relieve tension it's actually much more. Myotherapy can be used to target specific regions or trigger points on the body. This improves and sustains overall well-being by reducing stress, fatigue, stimulating lymphatic circulation and improving mood, reducing pain sensitivity, and alleviating soreness in the muscles.
